CBDC Cabot: Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF)

The Government of Canada and Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) understand the difficulties the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the small business community throughout the Atlantic region. As a result, the Government of Canada has made funds available to the CBDC s to provide support and assistance to SMEs through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF).

Small business owners impacted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic can apply for loans up to $40,000 through the Regional Relief and Recovery Funding (RRRF).

Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) Portal

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is administering the CECRA program on behalf of the Government of Canada and the provinces and territories. CMHC now has a portal online for the program; applications are now being accepted.

  • For any resident/business who has signed up for our Equal Payment Plan, the town will defer payments upon request, without penalty.
  • Upon request, payments will restart in July, and will be updated to reflect paying your balance by December 31. To request this deferral, please email
  • The Town will not be charging interest on any accounts until June. 
  • We continue to provide financial services but at a slowed pace. Staff are working from home and are responding to e-mails and phone messages left at our after-hours phone line: 834-6529.
  • For tax purposes, payments are accepted via online banking, cheque, and visa through plastiq.

Income Tax

“We are allowing all businesses to defer, until after August 31, 2020, the payment of any income tax amounts that become owing on or after March 18 and before September 2020. This relief would apply to tax balances due, as well as installments, under Part I of the Income Tax Act.

No interest or penalties will accumulate on these amounts during this period. “
