The Hangout Grand Opening

On Friday December 13th 2019 we were invited to the ribbon cutting and grand opening for The Hangout at 54 Conception Bay Highway. The Hangout is located in the same plaza as our members Funky Junk Home Decor! We’ve been anxiously awaiting this moment since meeting owners Stephanie and Mike this past summer.

Chamber Executive director Heather Howard had the opportunity to say a few words on behalf of the Chamber.

 

Heather shared this message,
“I’m grateful to have had a sneak peek behind the scenes while you’ve been building this spot. The stuff that most people don’t see from finding the best resource for accounting help to hiring your first employees to marketing your business. I’m so glad that you both took it upon yourselves to reach out and take advantage of the resources available to you. The Hangout

The Hangout is a Virtual Reality and board game cafe – the first of it’s kind in the Conception Bay Area! This versatile space was much needed in our community and we are thrilled to welcome this vibrant addition to our network of businesses. It’s important to note that you do not have to be a stereotypical “gamer” to enjoy this space. This is an inclusive environment created with the vision of bringing community together and providing a space for all demographics to have a bit (or a lot!) of fun.

 

Virtual Reality Gaming? What is that?

 

You don’t know what you’re missing until you try it for yourself!

 

Completely immerse yourself in a whole new world. The owners are constantly adding new games to the Virtual Reality library, making each visit a new experience. Heather tried the job simulator, a musical light saber block crushing game, Spiderman and the infamous rollercoaster ride (whilst standing in heels!)

What’s a Hangout without snacks and refreshments?

 

The Hangout has a cafe fulled stocked with yummy treats, fresh fruit and some delicious made-to-order sandwich options. You know how a sandwich always tastes better when someone else makes it? If your taste buds are craving that vibe – fast food isn’t going to cut it. Stop by and try the Chicken, Apple, Brie – it doesn’t disappoint. The Hangout serves fair trade organic coffee you won’t find anywhere else in the Conception Bay Area . The friendly staff will prepare your favorite cappuccino, latte, americano or whatever your heart desires – exactly to your liking. 
 
 

 

A Unique Experience. 

 

The Hangout has received much attention since opening, from a 2 page spread in the Herald to an interview during the NTV news hour. We’re so happy to see our members being recognized by the media and are confident that this attention will bring visitors to our community.  

The Hangout provides an online booking system via their website so that individuals and groups can reserve a Virtual Reality room in advance or even book a birthday party! This is an awesome opportunity for visitors from outside the community to visit us and not be disappointed!
